[BraLUG] Problem beim "Not"-Sichern einer Festplatte

MoinMoin,

habe einen Windowsrechner beim Wickel, der den Geist aufgegeben hat und
ich die wichtigsten Daten von der Festplatte sichern soll, da ein Backup
natuerlich nicht vorhanden ist...

Konstellation:
--------------
- zu sichernde Platte in einen anderen Rechner gestopft
- Knoppix 6.7.1 (Kernel 3.0.4) von CD gebootet
- zu sichernde Festplatte hat eine NTFS-Partition
- Sicherungsmedium eine USB-Festplatte, ebenfalls NTFS

Ob die zu sichernde Festplatte einen Schuss weg hat, kann ich nicht genau
sagen. Das Einbinden der Platte dauert ein paar Minuten... (ist eine
80GB-Platte)

Problem:

Beim Kopieren vieler Dateien kommt die Fehlermeldung "Error splicing file:
Input/output error"

dmesg spuckt, fuer mich, unverstaendliches Zeugs aus. So in der Art:

Hat jemand einen Rat fuer mich? Was kann ich da noch verbessern, damit ich
noch mehr Dateien wohlbehalten von der Festplatte runter bekomme?
